Table Talk Panel Discussion: Policing in America

Not sure how to respond when a White friend bemoans Black-on-Black crime or when a Black friend talks about unfair and unjust treatment “driving while Black” or when your daughter insists that we defund the police? Come join us for our next Table Talk to discuss Policing on Wednesday, May 18th at 5 p.m. (Pacific) / 8 p.m. (Eastern) to learn answers to those questions and more. REGISTER HERE.

We’ll explore the history of racism within policing in the United States and dig deep into the research and lived experiences of inequities in policing outcomes for people of color - in everything from traffic stops to no knock warrants.

We’ll discuss police funding and reform and talk through how to make an informed approach to your own local police department with concerns or questions about their work in your community.  Executive Director of Choose 180 and Flourish Collective Impact Partner, Sean Goode, will join us at the end of this session to talk about his own work with the police as a youth advocate; 911 reform; and the deep issue of broken trust between law enforcement and our communities.

This will be an evening you won’t want to miss.
